Improved oil pump backplate and gasket for beveldrive Ducati 750 roundcase engines - 750GT, Sport and SS.
The OEM rubber gasket has always been a problem. It never fits well (see image showing gasket providing minimal sealing!), often needing custom cutting to suit engine casting variations, and of course it starts at 3mm thick, but soon compresses down thereby needing the 4 oil pump mounting screws to be lockwired, otherwise they would be loose in no time, due to the gasket compressing to 2.5mm!
The new improved 2mm thick Stainless Steel oil pump backplate cannot compress, the 0.50 mm thick paper gasket has negligible compression, and certainly no further once initially tightened.
